BOLDER HOUSE

Nestled among boulders and dense desert vegetation, this Joshua Tree dwelling is a serene escape. The existing structure, with solid bones, was preserved, while we added a spacious living room, a third bedroom, and a second bath. The detached casita was unified with the main house through new roofing, maximizing flow and function. The Bolder House embodies a relaxed Nomadic style with creamy neutrals, warm timber, rattan, and earthy accents like terracotta tiles, concrete, and built-ins. The muted palette keeps the focus on the surrounding Mojave landscape. Expansive outdoor spaces—including multiple patios, a 30x10 ft pool with integrated hot tub, and a fire pit—offer stunning views and flexible spots to enjoy sun or shade year-round.
